The first Friday night social gathering for 2010, at the club, was well supported last Friday, everyone had missed fish and chips over the Christmas and New Year festivities! This week Friday 22nd January there will be a curry supper, for those of you keen on being spiced up a little!!
Friday 29th January social evening will have a wee Scottish theme. A Haggis supper, neeps and tatties!I know you'll all say its a little late for Burns night, but the wee Scottish laddie has got to get here all the way from bonnie Scotland on his bike, having been up there to catch the haggis!!!
Please note these friday night socials are open to all members of the club, so please feel free to come and join us,bar open at 6.30pm. If you are interested in the Scottish evening please leave message on the forum, see me Caroline at the club on Sunday 24th Jan or leave your name on a list in the office or behind the bar, so that we have some idea of numbers to cater for.Thankyou.

DWSC Burns Night...what a great do!
Smashing food, a wee dram of this and that, lots of Scottish flags and the like in the lounge, plenty of people wearing some tartan somewhere, and master of ceremonies Gregor addressing the haggis and dealing it the final fatal stab with his wee dagger!
I think we had about 25 people in the end, huge thanks to all invovled and especially Caroline for making it all happen. There were a few cameras so I'm sure some pictures will follow.
If you still have not made it down to the club on a Friday night for a social event...please do come along for the next one!

Really sorry I couldn't make it.
Well done all for making it happen, it's great to see members taking the initiative for something they want to really happen in the club. So then another 12 months before I can find out what haggis really tastes like ... all good things to those that wait Look forward to that!

Awee wee yeh, yeh wee scarly waaghs!
Fantastic night of revelries, and my stomach will take a few tubs of baby oil to overcome the stretch marks brought on by the Haggis Tat n Neaps.
Caroline and Gregor - you are an absolute credit to the word Social, for this was a truly memorable event.
I hear that Graham Collett is now planning a Karaoke night - we just have to find out when our friendly firefighting tenant is out playing with his hose

Thankyou to all those of you that support the friday night socials and especially the very successful 'Haggis Supper'! Hopefully those of you that didn't make it this time to the burns night will be eager to join in the fun next year!
This friday 5th Feb, we are back to fish and chips! |
