Welcome to the new season and finally we have some weather worth sailing in. In the absence of any successor I can confirm that I am still the windsurf fleet captain. Any windsurfing questions / new member queries can come to andrew.blee at ukonline dot co dot uk. Alternatively please speak to the members on the shore. Windsurfers are the friendliest fleet.
Format for this year looks like being exactly the same as the previous n years. Sailing whenever the wind blows 364 days a year. Time to agree that "flex-time" contract with the boss :))
Happy sailing.

That was the official welcome here are the piccy points.
Please make sure that you wear your membership tag and have your windsurfing car park sticker visible.
Zero tolerance for litter. We have the best foreshore of the whole club. Please don't drop litter. If you see some, pick it up. If you don't who will?
Welcome new members / visitors. If you see someone you do not recognise, please introduce yourself and make them welcome. The other side of this is identifying the few (many?) freeloading itinerants who sail at Draycote without paying. No one wants to be a policeman but in the context of a friendly greeting it should be possible to remind people to pay.
Tolerance for other people. This weekend is a prime example. 100+ visitors descend on Draycote - don't get irate when the Club has to compromise for the benefits of all its constituents.
Once more, happy sailing. Andrew |

So when are you going to show your face on the water Andrew (and I don't mean in a tub) ??
I agree with you on tolerance of guests, but there are limits. Why would you, as a visitor to the site, park your 4x4 side on, taking up 2-3 slots, right by a sign in letters 1 foot high saying "Windsurf Parking Only" ?
And the goood thing about today was the reaction of the weather to 100 Toppers on the water. More tomorrow please
6 days out of 7 on the water this week - matches my all time record.

Yes but at least the ODs managed to get him to remove his trailer.
I admit the windsurfing has taken a back seat. I seem to be working for a hire and fire organisation that is doing very little of the former and quite a lot of the latter. |

No, the truck and rib trailer was another one. Plus a woman in a Volvo who was trying to park so she could walk her dog (counselled her on two potential transgressions). What a great weekend of wind though. Never mind 18knots in your boat, you could have doubled that on a board. |

Yeah, but it's easy on a board isn't it.

Wow. That's is an amazing peice of footage! The scariest thing about that is that they're doing that 24/7! There's some more good videos at the volvo ocean race website.
